Wow Jolin. Great job on your facts for your island. I really like how detailed you have gone.
ReplyDeleteI also think your island is really cool. Its great to add your family to it.
Mr G
Thank you Mr G

Hi Jolin
ReplyDeleteYou have been working hard. I like how you included the pictures of the birds you were describing too.
Your Island looks great too, I noticed the coffee sign straight away, can I come too?
Hello Anna
DeleteOf course you can come and I can't wait to see you.
From Jolin
Hi Jolin, Great work! Your island looks awesome- I think I would like it with the cafe and the campfire! I didn't know flamingo's had black feathers under their wings. I would like them to be on my island!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Mrs Walker.
To Mrs Walker
DeleteThe campfire is for me and my sister and the cafe is for my mum because she loves coffee
From Jolin
Hi Jolin
ReplyDeleteThanks for teaching me about the three birds. I was just telling Mr G that I wanted to learn more about those birds. I think I would pick the Kererū too, because it is native to New Zealand and is a very good looking bird. I love your island, especially because it has coffee there. I think I need to rethink the list of things I will be taking to my island.
From Petra
Hello Petra
DeleteI had so much fun learning the three birds and the reason there is coffee at my island is because my mum needs to drink coffee everyday.
From Jolin
Hi Jolin.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super looking island you have created.
I like that you have included some very interesting information about each of the birds.
I have learnt things about the birds that I didn't know..
Keep up the great work.
Mrs Snook.
Thank you Mrs Snook and I'm glad that you learnt something new.

Hi Jolin, super fact finder - I have learnt a lot about Toucans, Flamingos & the Kererū.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you have chosen the Kererū to stay on your island.
I am amazed to learn that flamingos can be 4 - 5 feet tall but they only weigh between 4 - 8 pounds, which isn't very much . . . now that's got me wondering and pondering - just how much does a 6 pound flamingo weigh in grams?
Well, I know that a pound equals about 454 grams so that means a 6 pound flamingo would, um, weigh . . . um!
Gosh, please help me out here Jolin - it's been a long day and my brain is fried from organising the quiz earlier this afternoon and, well, it's refusing to do anymore thinking today!
Can you possibly give me the answer to stop my brain from hurting?
Looking forward to receiving that answer Jolin . . . whilst I'm waiting I'm going to have to lay down for a rest!
Have a great weekend.
Mr W.
Hello Mr W
DeleteHere is the answer that will save your brain from hurting.
how much does a 6 pound flamingo weigh in grams?
like you said one pound is around 454 gram so we can times it by 6
6x454=2724
which means 454+454+454+454+454+454=2724
Am I correct? Mr W
Now you can have a nice sleep.
From Jolin
Hey, thanks heaps Jolin for coming back with that answer for me, and yes, I think you are correct. It means I can have a nice sleep tonight now.
DeleteBut . . . now your answer has got me thinking that 2,724 grams must weigh something in kilograms . . . if only I knew how many grams there was in a kilogram then I could probably work it out . . . I think I'll leave that one until later cos it's rather late now and I need to go to sleep. Maybe you can help my brain out again Jolin and let me know what you think 2,724 grams is in kilograms . . . zzzzz zzzz . . . zzz. . . . zz . . . z
Mr W
Delete1 gram=0.001 kg
2724gram in kg is 2.724
Am I also correct this time Mr W?
I am also going to sleep after all these maths questions.
Good night Mr W zzzzz.....zzzz...zzz
From Jolin
Hi Jolin,
DeleteYes you are also correct this time as well. Great maths and well done - Tino pai Jolin!
Thank you for helping stop my brain from hurting . . . and now I can have a relaxing weekend.
